Company founded by Karl Fuhr

At the age of 33, the German engineer Karl Fuhr founds a mechanical engineering factory in Horn-Bad Meinberg, a small town in the heart of the Teutoburg Forest in East Westphalia.

Entry in the commercial register

For the first time, the company of Karl Fuhr is registered as “Karl Fuhr Maschinenfabrik” in the commercial register of the district court of Lemgo.

Death of the company founder

The company founder Karl Fuhr dies from a heart attack at the age of 50. He leaves behind his three young daughters as well as his wife Liselotte, who from then on runs the rolling machine factory.

The partnership “Karl Fuhr KG” is established

The company name is changed to “Karl Fuhr KG” and, along with this,
the legal form is changed to a partnership, with Liselotte Fuhr and her
three daughters as personally liable partners.

Helga König-Fuhr takes over in 2nd generation

At the age of 44, the oldest daughter of the company founder, Helga König-Fuhr, takes over the management of Karl Fuhr KG as managing partner.

Change of legal status in “Karl Fuhr GmbH & Co. KG”

Over the years the company has grown continuously. Against the background of a constantly changing competitive environment the company is restructured and from now on it operates under the name “Karl Fuhr GmbH & Co. KG”.

The new plant is being built

A new production facility is built in neighbouring Steinheim on an area of 10,000 sqm. This includes a highly modern and efficient production hall
with its own grinding and lacquering  facilities, as well as an architecturally sophisticated administration building.

The name is changed to “FUHR GmbH & Co. KG”

The company is given a modern and international corporate design.
With the introduction of the new company logo, the word and figurative
mark speak a clear language: FUHR produces „rolling mills“ for its
customers – the two stylised rollers and the wire running between them
make this clear once again in a very puristic way.

FUHR celebrates 70 years in business

The family-run, medium-sized mechanical engineering company produces state-of-the-art wire rolling machines for customers on 5 continents with around 50 highly qualified employees.

Sebastian König becomes a shareholder.

Sebastian König becomes the managing owner of the company.

In 2021, more than 50 qualified employees work for the company and ensure with their commitment that FUHR GmbH & Co. KG will continue to be one of the market leaders in its field.
